Welcome to Mrs. Donovan's Website!
Welcome! I was in First Grade when this school photo was taken. You see a very happy student!
"They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel."
I remember my teacher being very kind, patient, and made me feel good about myself. I think that helps you understand why the above quote means so much to me and why this quote reflects my philosophy for every day as I interact with children.
So what did I grow up to be? : ) I loved playing school for many years because I wanted to be just like my 1st Grade teacher! I continued that love of teaching through high school as I mentored others and was very involved in FTA. My college years in Education were so meaningful that I wanted to keep learning more and more about teaching so I earned my Masters Degree in Education! I've been a teacher at Morris Area Elementary School for 17 years. I have taught Kindergarten, 4th Grade and now I teach First Grade and I love it!
On a personal level, I grew up in the valley of the Jolly Green Giant - Le Sueur, MN, as the 8th child of 10. My husband Gary works at UMM and we have three grown children. Ryan works for Bremer Bank and lives in Alexandria, MN with his wife Melissa. My daughter Alison is a middle school counselor and lives in Nisswa, MN, with her husband Dan and their two children - Kane and Molly. Elizabeth just completed her third year residency as chief resident physician at Park Nicollet-Methodist Clinic and hospital. Eric and Liz moved to Morris in October with their son, Greyson. Liz is a family physician at SCMC.
